Why do you need an ‘3D-Apparat’?
In the age of digitization, the demand for high-quality 3D data and real 3D presentations of objects is increasing significantly: from the product presentation in the online shop, the digitization and archiving of cultural assets in museums, the photo-realistic representation of objects in virtual and augmented reality applications up to the reverse engineering of products and components. The range of applications for true-to-life, three-dimensional images is manifold. And with this, the challenges increase…
How do you get high-quality 3D data?
Actually, this question can be directly amended by the requirement: How can you accomplish that without any specialist knowledge, in consistently high quality and as fast as possible?
The 3D-Apparat is the ideal bridge builder for this purpose. Fully automated, it transfers objects from the real world to the virtual world. On a rotating glass pane, objects are photographed all around from all angles. The photos are then automatically transferred to a software, which calculates 3D objects from them. The 3D device takes care of all these processes, from the first photo to the proper filing and naming in your file system. The only thing you have to do is swap the object and press a button.
The crucial difference!
Of course, you can also scan real objects WITHOUT the 3D-Appart and work them out to 3D objects using photogrammetry calculation. For this you need at least one camera, Agisoft Metashape and a powerful workstation.
The crucial difference of the 3D device is that it optimally standardizes and fully automates all work steps that you would have to do yourself otherwise. You only have to touch the object once! This reduces typical sources of error in photography and software settings and saves a lot of time!
So if you want to scan several objects daily, you will notice the difference in quality AND quantity within a very short time.
